SUPPORT FROM BUSINESSES ACKNOWLEDGED BY PARADE COMMITTEE

 Sun, 25th Feb, 2024

Financial support from businesses in the Tullamore area is vital for the Tullamore St. Patrick's Day Parade and this was acknowledged by the Parade Committee when they accepted a cheque from Tullamore Credit Union on Saturday Last.

"The support given by the business community in the Tullamore area has been vital over the years in assisting us to organise the St. Patrick's Day Parade.   Without that support we could not run the Parade as we have so many costs, including Bands and Insurance.  So far this year we have received much needed contributions from local businesses and we will be calling to more businesses in the next few weeks.  All businesses will be acknowledged on our Website and Facebook page" states Cllr Sean O' Brien, Parade Secretary.

The Parade takes place on Sunday 17th March commencing at 11.30 a.m.  The Assembly point is the Car Park of the Bridge Centre and entries are asked to be there by 11.00 a.m.   The official opening of the Parade will be done by the Grand Marshall, Brian Cowen, at 11.10 a.m. at the Review Stand.  There will be entertainment here also from 10.45 a.m. and people are advised to come early as a large crowd is expected this year.

"As usual there will be great prizes for the winners of several categories and an overall winner.   These prizes will be awarded at a Presentation Night in the Phoenix Bar 0n 05 April at 8.00 p.m.  Apart from the category prizes there will also be prizes for the Best Dressed Dog and Best Window Display.   There will also be  a Peoples Choice Award; this will be chosen by a poll on our website by the general public.   After the Parade people can go to our website and choose the entry which most pleased them.   Our website is www.stpatricksdaytullamore.com" outlined Cllr O' Brien.

There will be a reserved seated area for elderly and wheelchair users opposite the Review Stand.

There is still time to enter the Parade, more information on entering on our JOIN THE PARADE page.
